Welcome!
Go Chargers! You are about to begin a great journey- in growth, learning, and fun! The first week of school is usually fraught with paperwork, procedures, and popcorn chicken (cafeteria sneak preview!). But, it's also about getting to know kids, figuring out how to make connections, and also learning how to work together as we gain responsibility for our learning.
Moving from the elementary realm to the middle school is a unique (and sometimes stressful) transition. With increased responsibilities, work, and conduct standards to learn and uphold, it is imperative that teachers provide a framework for becoming middle school students, so the time spent in school is instructional, not disciplinary. I will be that person for your child, and your help in maintaining those high expectations will yield great rewards, academically and socially.
That said, I'd like to leave you with some resources that may help in the transition. Please find my class syllabus (UPDATED; on the front page of this site), as well as links below to my Remind groups (get messages from me about homework, announcements, etc).
