Good day!
First, let me apologize for an error that was first realized today. Last week's posting never made it live, and I just now saw the post sitting unpublished! It has been posted, albeit late. Again, my aploogies! This week, Ms. Days is working to create some great lessons and reviews of sequences (SOL 6.17). Understanding how patterns are explained (common differences/common ratios), how they can be extended, and special types of patterns (Fibonacci, triangular/square numbers) will be highlighted as well. If you're not watching videos, you're missing instruction! Vocab This Week: Common Difference Common Ratio Arithmetic Sequence Geometric Sequence Fibonacci Sequence Square Number Triangular Number Announcements: There will be a binder/notebook check on Tuesday, November 26th. As we begin a unit of word problem solving, we are reminded about the MANY strategies that can be used to solve a problem. Those strategies we've discussed are located on the chalkboard, and we will devise ways to show what these items LOOK LIKE in the classroom. We'll be working through a 4-part classwork activity that will focus on using money, well-placed steps, and real-life situations. This will begin on Tuesdsay. Students were asked to bring circulars, catalogs, printed items, supermarket papers and the like to school on Tuesday. MAP Test results and SOLO reports went home to students beginning today. If you haven't received this paperwork, let me know. No BLUE BOOKS...yet. We will wait! Homework this week: Monday- Pg 217, 36, 27 Tuesday- Wednesday- ThUrsday- Friday- Good day!
As we begin the new 9 Weeks, our fantastic student teacher Ms. Days is courageously embarking on teaching a unit on SOL 6.5 (Exponents, perfect squares, square roots). Make sure you check Edmodo for new video goodness, notes (already done by Ms. Days- print them out!), and be ready to work hard!
