HAPPY DECEMBER!
Thank you for bearing with a recent absence due to surgery! I was sure to show as many students, that could handle it, the battle scar that is currently being formed. For those not in the know, I ruptured my Achilles tendon, requiring surgical intervention. An example of such a procedure can be found below. (Note: it is not for those with weak stomachs).
That said, I am happy to be back. After taking a close look at the SOL 6.5 quiz given in my absence, and taking into account that I was present for only the introduction of the unit, I am pleased with the results. Though there are some students that SHOULD re-quiz, the fact that class averages were at or higher than a B is very positive news.
Some things to remember:
1. Students who QUALIFY FOR and TAKE REQUIZZES get higher scores in my class.
2. If I am the only person, between you and me, who cares if you do well in my class, THAT IS NOT ENOUGH TO MAKE IT WORK/HAPPEN.
3. Regardless of what adult is in control of my class, sixth grade students know how to act and work in my class. Not doing so results in disciplinary measures. This is never negotiable.
Homework is still being planned for the net few weeks- stay tuned to the Google calendar on the main page and the Remind messages for up-to-date information. A video that should have been posted last week (viewed in class today, 11/30), is found below.
Have a great week!
